This bride tried on over seventy wedding dresses before finding her dream gown
Imagine trying on over seventy wedding dresses before finding your perfect gown. We recommend that brides commit to a gown much earlier in the process, to avoid the overwhelming feelings that occur when you've tried too many options. We love when brides come shopping for their first time at our salon, feeling encouraged by our stylists and loved by their family members to ultimately say "Yes!" to their dream dress right away. However, sometimes it can take seventy dresses before you find the bridal boutique that will give you the experience you deserve. This sums up Chloe’s journey to finding her stunning dress to wear as she married the love of her life.
Chloe’s relationship with Seth started when they were set up by mutual friends on a double date. Years later, while on a romantic horseback-riding date, which is dreamy enough on its own, Seth asked Chloe to spend the rest of her life with him.
While planning their wedding and searching for her dream gown, Chloe went through some difficult bridal appointments. “When I said I wanted unique it was like everyone interpreted that as bohemian and put me in an all-lace dress and that was the opposite of what I wanted.”
Finally, after many, many gowns, Chloe made her way to Alexia’s where she met our amazing lead stylists, Jamie and Megan. Jamie sat down with Chloe before the appointment began and learned all about Chloe’s wedding and personal style.
As Chloe began trying on the gowns pulled specifically for her, Jamie talked her through her feelings in each gown, listening carefully to Chloe’s preferences and how her personality came out in each gown. All the while, Megan was carrying around Chloe’s laptop with her out-of-state besties on video call, to ensure that Chloe could share her special experience with those she cared about most!
Ultimately, Chloe found her perfect gown at our salon and the rest was a breeze. “After I purchased the dress, even the alterations appointments were special. I had a few changes I wanted to make to the dress and what could have been a stressful process was easy. I ended up with exactly what I wanted.” By this point, we felt like Chloe was one of OUR besties and we were so ecstatic to see her wedding come together perfectly!
This spring-inspired day possessed a beautiful balance of timeless style and modern touches, “We used a pretty traditional color palette of neutrals with a lot of ivory and gold, but opted for lots of glass and acrylic for a modern feel, and included black accents to make it feel more unique to Seth and I since that is our favorite color!”
One huge piece of advice from the bride? “Do exactly what you want and throw any preconceived notions for what it "should" be out the window.” From Chloe and Seth’s non-traditional catering stations to their brewery-rehearsal dinner, they clearly made their wedding all about themselves — as they absolutely should!
Whether you're lucky enough to find your perfect gown at your first appointment or your tenth appointment, it's all about making sure your gown shopping experience is true to what you want! Although we absolutely do not recommend trying on seventy wedding dresses, we’re so thankful Chloe’s long wedding dress search led her to us so we could get to know this beautiful bride. We wish her and her new husband the best of luck!
