Helen & Paul
Helen was attending a Virginia wedding in 2017 when she met Josie, a woman who would later lead her to the man of her dreams. The two connected soon after on Facebook when Josie asked if she was single and interested in meeting a tall, handsome man she knew that lived nearby Helen. She quickly responded with excitement and only days later, Helen and Paul met for drinks at the West End Wine Bar. As they say, the rest is history!
Helen dreamed of a big southern wedding in her childhood church since she was a little girl. But, when COVID-19 regulations hit North Carolina, the couple’s wedding plans to celebrate with over 450 guests changed to 25 of their closest family and friends. Despite this change in plans, Helen loved every minute of the wedding day she described as “intimate.”
“Paul and I were truly able to be in the moment with each other all night long. We never left each other's side, danced the night away, and spent quality time on our special day with those who matter most - family!
- Helen
Helen came to Alexia’s looking for a long sleeve gown, inspired by her mother’s wedding dress. With the help of her consultant and alterations team, she wore a stunning lace fitted gown by Ines Di Santo with custom sleeves for her most special day!
Following her dream ceremony in her childhood church, Helen’s parents planned a back patio reception to celebrate. Though many of Helen and Paul’s original guests weren’t able to attend the intimate ceremony, the couples’s loved ones were determined to make a gesture of love and support for the newlyweds. As the two rode in Helen’s late grandfather’s green convertible to the reception, they were met with a parade of their loved ones holding signs, cheering them on and popping champagne as they passed by.
Congratulations, Helen & Paul! We loved being a part of your unique, love-filled day!
