A Georgia riverside wedding overflowing with southern charm & spanish moss

Page and Ricky, who met in Tennessee, hosted a swoon-worthy outdoor ceremony in November of 2020 in what one can only call a southern girl’s dream wedding. From the riverside outdoor ceremony to Page’s exquisite Monique Lhuillier gown, these nuptials were simply one for the books.

Ricky proposed to Page approximately one year before the wedding, in his family’s waterfront backyard in Savannah, GA. Ricky had arranged for both of their families to be in attendance when he popped the question. In Page’s own words, “while the sun was setting, he took me to the edge of the water and got down on one knee. It was beautiful and so sweet that both of our families were able to be there to celebrate right afterwards.”

Heading into wedding planning, Page and Ricky chose the stunning Beaulieu Plantation, in the same city they became engaged, which paved the way for their Georgia wedding to be brimming with southern elements, such as getting ready in a historic home with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wrap-around porch for darling bridal party portraits and, of course, stunning backdrops of spanish moss-covered trees,

Page went into wedding dress shopping knowing her day’s inspiration called for a clean, elegant gown, but had no clue she would find her dream dress so quickly in our boutique! Page tried to give some of our other gowns a chance, but “as soon as I put back on my dress there was no doubt... I had Ricky in my mind when I said yes to the dress. I was filled with emotion knowing that he was going to love it just as much as I did. I felt confident and beautiful and very bridal!”

Ricky was absolutely enamored by his bride, “Seeing Page in her dress was my favorite part because I was so excited to see her. It was really the final unveiling of a years’ worth of plans to kickoff wedding festivities and she looked amazing.”

Page’s favorite part of the day was a romantic few minutes shared between only she and Ricky; “I would have to say after we walked down the aisle, Ricky and I had a moment to ourselves to take everything in and have a drink together which was fun and romantic before we saw everyone.” Brides, take notes!

One final, small detail that really made the day special for the couple? A figurine of their golden retriever, Murphy, on the edge of their wedding cake. “We really wanted him at the wedding so seeing him on the cake at the reception made us so happy!”
