Liz & Alejandro met in New York City while both were attending medical school. After being friends for a few years, the couple began dating, albeit secretly at first! After 2 years of dating in the city and 3 more years of long distance, Alejandro proposed in a beautiful, private moment with Liz in her Miami apartment.

Fast forward to April 13th, 2019. The couple welcomed their large group of friends and family to enjoy a day celebrating their love in sunny San Diego at La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, where Liz spent all her summers with her family as a kid. Before the ceremony, Liz and her dad shared a special first-look moment and watched their guests file into their seats from the bar overlooking the ceremony.

“The wedding day was pure happiness. Cliché - but it honestly was. We started it together with coffee, then separated to get ready. There's such a buzz in the air on wedding day. We were in such a special spot, surrounded by our closest friends and family who we adore. It's pretty powerful to have that many people fly across the country to celebrate you.“

Liz wore a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown that perfectly complemented her style and the California beachscape.

One of the most important aspects in Liz and Alejandro’s wedding planning process was finding ways to include all their closest friends in their family-oriented ceremony, so many friends were asked to write intentions to be read at their ceremony.

“Alejandro's mother read my favorite Pablo Neruda poem "Soneto XVII". Alejandro is Cuban, so it was really special to have some Spanish as part of the ceremony.”

After the ceremony, celebrations continued to the beat of a playlist specially curated by the new Mr. and Mrs. Pino. Every little detail was significant in creating the perfect atmosphere to reflect their love and life together.

“A mix of chill, electronic-eque music for the dinner hour, then tons of salsa and Spanish music during the reception. The dance floor was always packed and it was so fun to see everyone enjoying themselves! It just went by way too fast!”
